Friday night yoga happy hour calls for inspiring music! Before I started practicing yoga (20 years ago, I feel old!), I often overate (the Italian in me could easily down a pound of pasta in a sitting) and, despite having a background in nutrition, I would not always make the best food decisions for my body.
Practicing yoga really helped me get in tune with my body and what it needs to, not just survive, but to truly thrive. I used to think it was required to practice an hour every day. But, actually, simply stepping on the mat, planting your feet into the ground, taking some deep breaths, and doing simple movement to open your body is enough to get grounded, be more mindful and get in tune with your body so that you’re making the best decisions for your health. Just make it a ritual and do a little bit every day. Trust me, you’ll start to notice big positive changes.
National Nutritional Month Tip #29 Carve out 5-10 minutes each day to move, breath and get centered so you eat well and live well.
(P.S. I highly recommend doing this as a morning ritual as it sets the pace for the day!)
